Another beautiful video by Dirty Beaches to preview his upcoming Horror LP. Watch the first one.
At lunch today...
My skin smells like sunscreen. My hair smells like forest. My clothes smell like water.
And I love it.
This is a beautiful way to send a letter. Yeah, analog fetishization blah blah….

I just found this Risa! Sorry, I never check my personal myspace anymore.
Very very sweet words…It’s been a pleasure working with you and Elran and the team. What to say!
Whenever I come home to visit my parents, I end up re-reading Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg. It’s one of those rare books that can package profound wisdom into simple anecdotes without sounding like an infomercial.
In it, Goldberg gives concrete exercises for inspiring creative action with ideas that you can carry over into the rest of your life. The chapters are 8 pages at most, and the majority are about 2-3 pages.
Her background is in Zen Buddhism so she’s all “cutting the mental clutter” and “making clean spaces to work” and “approaching work as practice” and “working with your neuroses”. I highly recommend this book for refreshing your creativity or starting a new project.
Goldberg is gentle but won’t let you get away with tricking yourself into being lazy. Her phrasing is poetic and lovely and her core ideas are surprising every time I read them.
You can order a copy for $1 on Abebooks!
Looking for a link to the book online, I also discovered this neat service: BookMooch. The site lets you give away and receive books from people all over the world using a points system. There are several others like it, too.
Better than all that, check your local secondhand book shop for a copy so you don’t have to have it shipped and kill the earth.
